Reginald Wayne Moore, a native Houstonian and a second generation Jack Yates Lion; both parents were JYHS alumni. The class of 1978 started the thirty-seven year consecutive playoffs in football state record. Moore was a three year starter on varsity district and earned All City recognition as defensive tackle and offensive guard.
Moore, who played college football at University of Southwestern Louisiana, initiated a thirty eight year recognition letter from H.I.S.D. and UIL; he also initiated and sponsored a Recognition Banquet on April 4, 2015.
Moore, a retired longshoreman and real estate broker, earned certification from the College of Biblical Studies in Community Housing Economic Development and is currently a community social justice activist. He is married with three adult sons between him and his wife.
