Otto "Mickey" Malone is a native of Stafford, Texas and attended New Hope Elementary School and M. R. Wood High School, Fort Bend ISD and graduated in 1959. In high school he was a two sports athlete, basketball/football and played under the leadership of Coach Hollis Felder. He was a member of the basketball team from 1955-1958 and 1958 football team when both the 1958 basketball and football teams won district championships that year, and he was team captain of his basketball team.
Malone enrolled in college at Texas Southern University in the fall of 1959, later earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.
He started working in the insurance field as an underwriter, and then established his own agencies with several companies. After 32 years of working in the insurance business, he retired in 2004 with Allstate Insurance Company.
Malone was married to the love of his life, Ola Marie Eastland-Malone for 41 years before her demise. He has three children, Anthony, Bruce and Minnie Ola Malone. He has two grandsons, Michael Joseph and Kevin Armstrong and one great-grandson, Devin Armstrong.
Malone is an active member of Fountaine First Baptist Church in Houston, Pastor John Henry Brown. He is a member of the Pastor's Compensation Committee and male chorus.
