Julius C. Glosson attended Phillis Wheatley High School in San Antonio, Texas where he was an outstanding track and field athlete. He was a member of championship relay teams that set records during the PVIL era.
Julius was known for his speed and was part of relay teams that competed at the highest levels. His contributions to track and field helped establish San Antonio as a powerhouse in Texas track.
His athletic achievements during the transition period from PVIL to UIL helped pave the way for future generations of African American athletes in Texas.
The PVILCA posthumously honors Julius C. Glosson with the PVIL-UIL Bridging the Gap Award for Track.
