Jesse W. Ball, Jr. attended Phillis Wheatley High School in Houston, Texas where he was a standout track and field athlete. He was known for his speed and competitive spirit.
After high school, Jesse continued his athletic career at Texas Southern University where he competed in track and field. He was part of successful relay teams and competed at the highest levels.
Jesse represents the generation of athletes who competed during the transition from PVIL to UIL integration. His achievements helped pave the way for future generations of African American athletes in Texas.
