C. Donald Babers attended Weldon High School in Gladewater, Texas where he was a standout football player. He was a member of the 1961 and 1962 State Championship teams.
After high school, Donald attended Wiley College where he continued his football career.
His achievements on the football field helped pave the way for future generations of African American football players in Texas.
