Corrie Harris is a native of Fort Worth, TX, where the 'West begins'. Not only where the West begins, but he graduated from the 'best of the North Side Community', namely, the Historic Milton L. Kirkpatrick High School with only one dynamic principal, the late and great Mr. Frank G. Adams. Corrie lettered in football as an outstanding Defensive End under the late legendary Coach Gerald Kenneth Beal. He played on the 1963 PVIL 3-A State Championship Team and the 1964 City Championship Team. After graduation in 1964, Corrie attended East Central Oklahoma University in Ada, Oklahoma. He continued his winning ways and was instrumental in the football program there by helping his football teammates win THE CONFERENCE in 1965.
Corrie will always be remembered for intercepting the pass from the Dunbar High School quarterback running 80 yards to tie the game 36-36, which caused the two schools to share the City Championship.
In 2011, Corrie retired from Miller Brewing/Ball Can Company after 34 years.
Corrie and his high school sweetheart, LaVordyce Ervin Harris have been married for 52 years and have enjoyed many travels throughout the United States over the years. They have a son, Centuria (Tamasha) Harris and a daughter, Wealthia (Gary) White, and five grandchildren, Breanna, Gariel, Benjamin, Charlston, and Corrie. He is a member of Beth Eden Baptist Church.
