Bobby E. Moten, Sr. was born on August 27, 1936 in Nacogdoches, Texas to John Wesley Moten and Virgie L. Moten. He attended high school at E.J. Campbell High School.
Coach Moten earned his Bachelor's degree from Prairie View A&M University and later received his Master's degree from Stephen F. Austin University. As an athlete at Prairie View, he played football and ran track.
Bobby's coaching career began at E.J. Campbell High School in Nacogdoches where he coached football, basketball and track. He later coached at various schools in East Texas before retiring.
Throughout his career, Coach Moten was known for his dedication to his athletes and his commitment to developing young men both on and off the field. He mentored countless students during his years in education.
Bobby Moten, Sr. is married to Ella M. Moten. He is a devoted member of his church and community.
