Coach Jimmie Sanders is a graduate of Prairie View A & M University where he was an All-American Track star.
In 1967 Sanders joined the coaching staff of I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth. He began his championship tradition by winning titles in football, track and basketball.
When I.M. Terrell was closed in 1973, Coach Sanders was transferred to Western Hills High School where he became the first coach, black or white to win district championships in JV Basketball and football. He also assisted in coaching the varsity football to a Bi-district title in 1981. As an interim girls track coach he took 9 athletes in 6 different events to the regional meet.
Dunbar claimed his talent in 1984 where his championship coaching produced 1 Co-district, 1 District and two Bi-district playoffs. He coached the 9th grade and JV girls basketball teams to championships. During the 4 years from 1984-88, not only did he coach the 9th grade and JV teams, he was the assistant to the girls basketball teams which won 4 district titles and a berth in the regional playoffs.

One cannot go any higher in Texas than a State Championship which is what Coach Sanders achieved this past year. Leading up to the state meet Jimmy Sanders has won 15 various meets, 4 Cross Country District Meets, 2 Track and Field District meets, 2 Regional meets, and can truly be called a championship coach.
