Basketball Coach: District Basketball Champions for three consecutive years. Coach of the Year three consecutive years 1967-1970. First Black Basketball Coach in District 13 5A.
When integration originated in 1970, in Marshall, Texas, Wilborn at the age of 34, was offered the position of Assistant Basketball Coach; Wilborn's decision was to quit the game rather than assist the man whom he had beaten for three years.
