Dr. Gillespie attended Richardson Furney High School where he participated in basketball, football and baseball then followed that with a brilliant career at Paul Quinn College. He earned his BA, MA and PhD degrees at North Texas University at Denton and also attended Tyndale Seminary.
His last coaching experience was at I. M. Terrell with a 7-3 record. He retired in 1988. Dr. Gillespie has served as an administrator in Fort Worth and is currently the pastor of Concord Baptist Church, Dean of MUMD (Ministry United for Ministerial Development), a member of Forest Hill Drug Rehabilitation Association, the Fort Worth Heart Association and Forest Oak Community HELP.
