Coach Thomas E. Gray attended Manual Training School in Oklahoma where he participated in football after which he went to Langston University on a football scholarship. His additional education included Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogodoches, Texas.
Coach Thomas Gray had an outstanding coaching career which included football, basketball, track and swimming. In 1979 he won all of his games as a ninth grade head coach. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity of the Gamma Upsilon Lambda Chapter.
He passed away in 1979 after having begun his coaching career in 1975. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
