Coach Reggie Brown is a graduate of Fred Douglas High School in Sherman, Texas, where he participated in football, basketball, tennis and track. He attended Wiley College on an athletic scholarship where he excelled in football, track and tennis. He also attended Prairie View and North Texas State.
Dalsworth High School in Grand Prairie had the benefit of his coaching from 1965 to 1980. He then moved to Poly in Fort Worth and Carter Riverside from 1981 to 1989. Coach Brown, coached five professional athletes which included Perry Pruitt, Joe Jones, Scooter Reed, Melvin Carraway and All Pro Charles Taylor of the Washington Red Skins. As a basketball coach for fourteen years, he was state finalist and won his district five of six years.
Coach is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Association and retired in 1989 with an overall record of 258 wins and 138 losses in football, and 258 wins and 138 losses in basketball.
The Texas African American Coaches Association is proud to induct Coach Reggie I. Brown into The Hall of Honor on this 27th day of July 1999.
