Coach L.T. Thomas went from a high school star to Bishop College and continued his outstanding athletic career. During his years as a coach, he made a number of significant contributions in the field of athletics. He began his coaching career at Burnett High School in Terrell, Texas, where he coached football and baseball. He finished his coaching career at Pinkston High School in Dallas.
Coach Thomas was a part of the pre-integration years when the Texas High School Coaches Association did not recognize our accomplishments. One year during the coaching clinic in Houston when we had little or no voice, yet paid our membership, L.T. Won a new Ford in the raffle that was a surprise of the entire coaching school.
The Texas African American Coaches Association is proud to induct Coach L.T. Thomas into our Hall of Honor on this day, July 27, 1999.
