Coach Johnny Younger graduated from I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth after an outstanding athletic career and continued it at Prairie View A&M. He enjoyed tremendous success as a high school coach of track and football and is currently an associate director of United Educators Association (UEA). His illustrious coaching career includes a state championship in track at Pyle High School in Kaufman Class 1A, a regional title, state 4X100- relay championship and a state runner-up in track while at Fort Worth Dunbar. At Wiergat, Coach Younger won the district and was state runner-up in track. He also coached football and track at Southwest, Diamond Hill, Arlington Heights and Dunbar High Schools in Fort Worth.
The Texas African American Coaches Association is delighted to induct Coach Johnny I. Younger into our Hall of Honor on this day, July 27, 1999.
