The late Coach Raymond B. Timmons attended Dunbar High School in Lufkin, Texas where he participated in basketball. He attended Prairie View where he lettered in football and basketball and received his Masters from Columbia University in New York City.
He began his coaching career at Victoria High School in 1939 and moved to L.C. Anderson in Austin in 1940. Coach Timmons retired in 1971 after compiling an 11 year record at Anderson of 89 wins, 52 losses and 6 ties. While at Anderson he won 3 state crowns in 1956, 57, and 1961; two additional district titles in 1957 and 1958.
