Harvey L. Bradshaw attended Moore High School in Waco, Texas, where he was voted the most outstanding athlete in 1941-42, was destined to make an outstanding contribution in sports. After serving his country in World War II for three years, he entered Sam Huston College in Austin where he became an assistant coach in basketball and football and earned All American honorable mention on the Chicago Defenders All American Team and again elected the most outstanding athlete and four letter man 1948-49.

Coach Bradshaw began his high school coaching career at Lincoln High School in Beaumont as assistant football coach and head basketball coach. His 1956 state championship basketball team lost by one point at the National Negro High School Basketball Tournament held in Nashville, Tennessee.

While studying for his Master's Degree at Texas Southern University, Coach Bradshaw taught in the evening graduate school and in 1961 became the assistant principal at Franklin Junior High School in Port Arthur, Texas. After serving as vice principal, he became the principal until 1970 when he left public school work and went into the federal government's HEW Department.

Since his retirement Coach Bradshaw has served his community and church with the same dedication he exhibited in athletics as an athlete and coach.

The Texas Afro American Coaches Association is proud to induct Coach Harvey L. Bradshaw into our "Hall of Honor".
