Coach Daniel L. Johnson, "The Big Train", one of the most accurate centers and the most fierce linebacker to ever play the game of football in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Coach Johnson attended Fred Douglas High School in Denton, Texas, where he participated in football, basketball and track. He went on to play football at Prairie View where he made All Conference and Honorable Mention All American during a brilliant career in one of the toughest conferences in America.

"The Big Train" started his coaching career at Trinity High School, Trinity, Texas amassing a record 32 wins, 7 losses and one tie. His Class A teams won the district in 55-56 football, 54, 55 and 56 in track.

While at Dunbar High School in Fort Worth, Johnson's track teams set several meet records, district records and was a threat each year at the state meet in Austin to win the 440 relay.

He officiated football, basketball, and track and field as another one of his contributions to the field of athletics.
