Calvin John Scott attended Jack Yates High School where he starred in football and track. He continued his outstanding athletic career at Prairie View A&M in football. After receiving his BS Degree he began his coaching career in 1960 at Cleveland followed by a 30 & 5 record at Calvert and a 40 and 20 record at Pinkston in Dallas.
Coach Scott received his Masters and Administrative credentials from Prairie View which prepared him for becoming the first assistant athletic director in the state of Texas at Dallas. He had also served as assistant principal at Hulcy Middle School.
His many honors and contributions include: Personalities of the South, Allstate and All American in Football, Most Outstanding Player in the Prairie View Bowl Game in 1957, Prairie View's Sports Hall of Fame in 1989, Special Recognition by the Prairie View Alumni Club in 1974, Ex-Letterman's Award in 1970 and All Southwest Conference in Football in 1957 and 1958.
Organizations and contributions include: Honorary Life Member of the Texas Congress of Parents and Teachers, KNOK Citizenship Award and Coordinator of Pupil Accounting Officer of Dallas ISD. The TAACA proudly accepts Coach Calvin John Scott in its Hall of Honor.
