Elliott L. Harvey graduated in Phyllis Wheatley in Houston where he participated in football, basketball, track, and softball. His undergraduate years were spent at Prairie View A&M and he earned a Master of Science degree in Supervision Administration at Texas Southern University. Mr. Harvey coached at G.W. Carver in Calvert, Texas and B.T. Washington and Phyllis Wheatley in Houston. Among the many facets of Mr. Harvey's illustrious career include All-American 1934-35, he played in the first Orange Bowl Classic in Jacksonville (1936), and four P.V. Bowl games between 1934 and 1938. When asked when he retired from coaching this athletic pioneer stated, "When integration begins". Mr. Harvey currently resides in Houston.
