Coach Thomas graduated from Lincoln High School and went on to become an All Southwestern Conference End in 1956 and an All American in 1957 at Wiley College. Wiley tied for the South-western Conference Championship in 1956 and won it in 1957. His coaching record includes a 72-6 in junior high and an 82-27-3 record in high school. Other contributions to the field of athletics include: assisting Lincoln to a 13-13 tie for the State Championship in 1949. Currently he is the Assistant Athletic Director of the DISD, he helped to install an All City Academic team concept. He received his administrative certificate from Prairie View A&M. Thomas coached at Pearl Anderson JH, Madison and Roosevelt High Schools. He belongs to numerous social, civic and professional organizations.
