Charles Fisher graduated from H. B. Pemberton High School in Marshall, Texas in 1956 where he participated in football and track. He attended Prairie View A&M University on a football scholarship where he received his bachelors degree in 1961 and masters degree in 1968.
After serving two years in the U.S. Army, Fisher began his coaching career at Lorraine Crosby High School in Hitchcock, Texas in 1963. He moved to Dallas, Texas where he was hired to teach at L.G. Pinkston High School and served as assistant football coach until 1970. Fisher served as head coach at Pinkston for two years before moving into administration.
Fisher is extremely proud that a high percentage of his former athletes who attended college on athletic scholarships graduated and received their degrees.
