Dr. John attended Colored High School of Houston where he participated in football and baseball. After starring in these sports at Howard University he went on to receive a Ph.D. and Masters at the University of Michigan. He coached at Wheatley High School in Houston from 1928 to 1944 and was one of the main organizers of the old Prairie League in 1939. His achievements and contributions are well documented in the information sheet attached.
