Edward Mitchell attended High School at Central in Galveston where he participated in football and track, "Mitch" then went to Southern University where he starred in football and track and did further study at Ohio State and Texas Southern. He has received many honors and awards and compiled a four year record of 39 wins, 4 losses and no ties. His first year as head coach at Central he won the state championship and retired from coaching in 1967 to go into administration.
The EX-PVILCA is proud to receive "Big Mitch" into its Hall of Honor.
