Frank Walker, Jr. attended Phyllis Wheatley High School in Houston and Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where he participated in football and track. Frank also attended Texas Southern Univerity where he was an assistant coach in 1947 - 48.

Coach Walker was All City Quarterback for Phyllis Wheatley High School and All Conference Quarterback at Southern in 1937-38. Many of his former players are in the coaching profession and the professional ranks are represented by Sidney Williams, Eldridge Small, George Balthazar, Donnie Davis, Lea Johnson, Lester "The Molester" Hayes, to name a few. Frank married Frances Cock Walker 40 years ago and has one daughter, Dr. Etta Frances Walker. Frank Walker, Jr. truly belongs in the Coaches Hall of Honor.
