Collin Briggs is a native of Houston, and graduated from Wheatley, where he was an outstanding basketball player. After high school he received a basket-ball scholarship to attend Tuskegee in Alabama. At Tuskegee he was named team Captain as a Senior.
After college he was named Head Basketball Coach at Wheatley in 1946. He had an unbelievable 608-55 record, including 12 State titles and was in the State playoffs 3 other times.
He is now retired.
